Track Cycling

Track Cycling is a great cycling discipline using a fixed wheel bike. Track bikes are as basic as you can get, no gears, no brakes and very little weight. It is also a relatively cheap way of taking up a great cycling activity with a good second hand bike costing around £250 and new bikes costing from as little as £ 600.

Brereton Wheelers have had a great cycling track history and members, current and past, have trained and competed at local, national and world olympic levels.

If you are interested in having a go at track cylcling there are weekly training sessions for beginners through to advanced track cylists held through the summer months at Aldersley Stadium, Wolverhampton, as well as all year round training at Derby Arena.

Track cycling is a fantastic way of developing your cycling skills. It will improve your bunch riding skills, vastly improve your peddling technique and core strength as well as building your strength and race craft.

If you would like to have a go at track Cycling please get in touch. Track cycling is suitable for all ages and can be taken to any level. Outdoor training can start as young as 5 years old, and indoor training as young as 9.
