🌤️ A Bright Rollout from The Mansfield
Adrian, Gina, Tim, and Rod set off in rare early sunshine, all quietly aware that recent washouts had left our legs a bit… undertrained. Spirits were high, pace was smooth, and for a few glorious miles it felt like spring had finally arrived.
💨 When the Wind Decided to Join In
The blue skies didn’t last. A stiff crosswind swept in, turning the ride toward Newton Regis Garden Centre into a proper test of balance and teamwork. Everyone dug in: Tim pushing through the gusts, Gina keeping the group steady, Rod riding like a metronome, and Adrian repeating the day’s unofficial motto — don’t get blown off the road.
🧀 The Café Stop That Made It All Worth It
Rolling into the garden centre felt like victory. Warm drinks, good company, and a perfectly baked cheese scone restored morale instantly. It’s amazing how quickly a tough ride becomes a great one once the café stop hits.

Even with the wind and the grey skies, the ride had everything that makes our club special: friendly riders, steady pacing, plenty of laughs, and a route that feels rewarding without being overwhelming.
