Bike Fit at Home: Comfort Without the Price Tag

A fit doesn’t have to be complicated. The goal is pain-free riding and good control. Small changes make big differences—adjust one thing at a time and test it.

Quick self-checks

  • Knee pain (front): saddle too low or too far forward.
  • Knee pain (back): saddle too high.
  • Numb hands: too much weight on bars—raise bars or shorten reach.
  • Saddle discomfort: try tilt changes (1–2 degrees) before swapping saddles.

Maintenance tie-in

  • Re-check bolts after adjusting stems/seatposts.
  • Use carbon paste on carbon parts (if applicable) and a torque wrench.
